Story Excerpt:
(Digital Music News) This is Facebook‘s social network, you’re just playing on it! And that means that Spotify Play Buttons are getting serious priority from now on – regardless of what you, the artist, prefer. And it’s all happening on Facebook’s newly transitioned Timeline Pages, not customized apps from BandPages, ReverbNation, FanRx, or Nimbit.
Theoretically, this button goes to any Facebook-integrated on-demand service (ie, MOG, Rhapsody, etc.), though Spotify is unquestionably the preferred horse. ”After clicking the button, the music service the person uses most frequently will begin playing songs from that artist,” a Facebook executive told Digital Music News.
Then, all activity gets threaded into the Timeline chronology. ”Because the music services are timeline apps, listening activity will be posted to timeline as it happens.”
